Police K9 Training Directory

My web site has a great deal of information on training police K9. This web page is set up as a directory of that canine information. I hope it helps you find the information that you are looking for.

I went to my first protection dog seminar in 1974 and my first police K9 seminar in 1978. I was a police K9 handler for 10 years (during the 1990s). For several of those years I was chairman of the training comittee for the Wisconsin Police dog Association. I have conducted well over 1,000 nartoics searches with dogs and spent my share of time hunting humans with police dogs.

When my sheriff retired in 1990 I ran for sheriff in our county. I lost to a deputy that hd been suspended without pay 3 or 4 times in the previous 18 months :-) Needless to say I stopped doing police work at that time. I won't work with someone I don't repsect.

With this said I am not a fan of civilians with no police K9 experience training police service dogs. The information on my web site and in my Police K8 training DVDs is based on my experience as a dog trainer, as a police K9 handler and as a Deputy Sheriff.
